The Shreveport Bar Association’s Krewe of Justinian is proud to be the only legal Mardi Gras Krewe around. Our membership includes northwest Louisiana lawyers and their families, friends and co-workers. We were founded to provide financial support for the SBA’s pro bono projects, working to support the legal needs of our low income community and those in crisis. We were also founded as a social network to build and strengthen camaraderie and professional relationships among our members as we all work together, with our clients, to unite our community and to celebrate Louisiana’s long-standing culture of resilience and revelry.
Our Krewe offers a number of opportunities for those interested in supporting our professional, philanthropic, and social missions, including sponsorships of our 5K Race for the Beads, our Grand Bal Gala, and our Mardi Gras Float (for both the Centaur and Highland parades). We are also looking for items and services that can be donated for silent auction, as well as for donations from vacation property exchanges (see attached forms).
Thanks to sponsorships and donations in past years, our Krewe has contributed over $300,000 to the Shreveport Bar Foundation for community events including Wills for Veterans, Ask-A-Lawyer legal hotline, protective orders for domestic violence victims, LSUHSC Children’s Center, Volunteers for Youth Justice, Habitat for Humanity, Book Fair for Shriners Hospital, Caddo and Bossier Early Head Start programs, Providence House, the Lighthouse Program, and the Gingerbread House and Cara Center (supporting forensic interviews, medical examinations, and counseling for abused children).
Your generous sponsorships and donations to our Krewe will enable us to continue our support of the Shreveport Bar Foundation and these important community programs and to serve our clients in need. Your support will also allow us to continue our active participation in the Northwest Louisiana Mardi Gras community, a cultural celebration that has grown remarkably in recent years, bringing people together from all across the Ark-La-Tex. (Please note that no money raised through sponsorships will be used towards the purchase of alcohol.)
